The task
An online clothing store needs automatic categorisation of new items. The dataset has 10,000 training and 2,000 test images (28×28 grayscale, 784 pixel columns plus an ID and a label), labelled T-shirt/top, Trouser, Pullover, Dress, Coat, Sandal, Shirt, Sneaker, Bag or Ankle boot.
