The task

In a dystopian 2147, clean-signal WiFi areas (HotSpots) appear in modified satellite images as geometric shapes: circles, ellipses, rectangles and convex or concave polygons. Some images contain random background noise and thin semi-transparent stripes that imitate interference.

Four archives of 256×256 RGB images are given, from single-object images to unconstrained ones; for each image the contestant must produce the binary mask of the HotSpots. Example masks in the starter kit show what counts as noise, artefact, stripe or HotSpot.

output.csv with subtaskID (1–4), datapointID (image name) and answer (binary mask encoded as column-major, 1-indexed run-length pairs).
Scoring
Pixel-level F1 between the decoded and ground-truth masks; requirement weights 3, 4, 10 and 83 points.

  • On-site during the national training and selection camp (17–24 June 2025, POLITEHNICA Bucharest)
  • Internet limited to the contest platform and the documentation of the available libraries
  • Only submissions ticked during the round count; anti-fraud session locking on the judge
