The task
Problem 1 (50 points) consists of five multiple-choice parts of 10 points each: identifying an unsupervised-learning task; comparing the sparsity of l1- and l2-regularised linear regression; the behaviour of bias and variance as model complexity grows; when the F1 score is preferred over accuracy; and a property of UMAP.
