Predict hourly precipitation in Quezon City for 2023 from noisy hourly weather observations of 2020–2022.
The task
Hourly features (temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed) for Quezon City are given with precipitation for 2020–2022; contestants predict precipitation (mm) for each of the 8,760 hours of 2023. The sensors show calibration drift, missing intervals and extreme outliers (such as 999% humidity), so robust cleaning and time-based feature engineering (diurnal and seasonal cycles, Amihan and Habagat monsoons) are needed.
